Yesterday’s NBA Recap
Pretty boring day, one in which the system went 7-9 overall.
My favorite bet of the day was the over in the Timberwolves/Grizzlies game, which actually came down to the wire after both teams got off to a hot start in the first quarter. The game ended up going into overtime so there really wasn’t any need to worry, but that also allowed Memphis to win by seven points and ruined the chances of Minnesota covering the spread, even after they were up by double digits in the fourth quarter.
My next favorite play was the Heat against the Nuggets, which never really stood a chance. Miami came out of the gates flat and only scored 49 points by halftime. Even against a shorthanded Nuggets team, they couldn’t get the job done.
Today there are only three NBA games, and there are several question marks for almost every team. Let’s see what the system has to say.
NBA Predictions
Milwaukee Bucks @ Philadelphia 76ers
I won’t spend too much time on this game because I did a much more in depth analysis already, which you can find on my Twitter page.
Milwaukee has a surprisingly bad offense and is playing without Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, and Donte DiVincenzo in this one. Philly has the best offense in the league from a statistical standpoint, but they will be without Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, Isaiah Joe, and obviously Ben Simmons won’t be making his return tonight.
Things are quite messy in this game. Philly is violently shorthanded and on a back-to-back after losing last night to the Knicks, and Milwaukee has cored less than 100 points in four of their last five games.
I like the under in this spot. I got it when it opened at 222.5, but I would play this down to 214 even though the system is predicting 216.
Best Bet- UNDER 217
Atlanta Hawks @ Utah Jazz
Atlanta is coming into this one after suffering a 14 point loss from the Warriors last night, so they aren’t exactly set up for success tonight.
The Hawks are 0-7 against the spread this season when they are the away team, which is a huge reason why the system is leaning towards Utah. Meanwhile, the Jazz are 2-1 against the spread at home, and 6-4 overall.
Utah is a much better team on both ends of the floor as well, ranking 2nd in Offensive Rating and 7th in Defensive Rating, while Atlanta is 9th in Offensive Rating and 27th in Defensive Rating.
The under certainly has a shot as both teams are in the bottom half of the league in Pace, but I feel much more comfortable backing Utah on the spread tonight because I think this could easily be a double digit victory for them.
Bets Bet- Utah -8
Portland Trailblazers @ LA Clippers
I’m personally not betting this game, but this is a game where I would target the under.
So far this season, the under is 7-3 in Blazers games and 6-3 in Clippers games. Betting these teams to not score the ball has been profitable so far.
Once again, the Clippers are a fantastic team on defense and should have no problems against a Portland team that has either been really good or really bad when it comes to shooting the ball.
These two squared off on October 29th, a game that ended with a final score of 111-92 in favor of Portland. I think we see a similar total to that game tonight.
Best Bet- UNDER 221
Conclusion
That is all I got for today. Pretty boring slate all around, but there are some good bets in the mix.
