Hello again.
About one month ago I tried to reset the password to this newsletter, and it proved to not be a great idea because I got locked out of the account for over a month. That’s the reason why nothing has been sent out.
However, I’m back now and although I most likely won’t be sending out a newsletter everyday of the week, I will try to send one out 4-5 days a week.
Updates
While I was away, I actually picked up a job writing about the NHL and NBA for the Action Network. I’ll have daily posts on there about specific games, and in those articles you can read about my best bet for a particular game. Today I have a write up on the Florida Panthers vs the New York Rangers, and tomorrow I will write about the 76ers vs Bucks and the Blues vs Jets games.
To see those articles, you can download the Action Network App in the App Store for any device. You can also follow my profile (@jacobmckenna99_) in the app and see which bets I’m placing every day, and what my favorite system bets are.
I was also locked out of my old twitter, but you can follow my new one by clicking the button below.
Now, here are the NBA predictions
NBA System Predictions
This season has gotten off to a strange start. The under has hit at an unbelievable clip, with only 5 teams hitting the over in 50% or more of their games. Free throw rates have also steeply declined, helping the lower score come into play.
Minnesota Timberwolves @ Memphis Grizzlies
The over in this game might be my favorite play of the day, despite what I just said above.
Both Memphis and Minnesota have been lighting it up from three this season, which is why both teams find themselves inside the top seven in 3-pointers made and attempted per game. Minnesota attempted 52 three pointers in their last game, and on the season is averaging 44.4 attempts per game from behind the arc.
History often repeats itself, and in the last three matchups between the Twolves and Grizzlies there has been at least 225 points scored, with an average of 242 points per game being scored in that same span.
Memphis is a bad defense, ranking 29th overall in Defensive rating (allowing 112.7 points per 100 possessions). Minnesota isn’t a great offense, but they are ranked 7th in pace and should find the basket tonight.
Lastly, both teams are coming off 20+ point blowouts in their last games. Both teams should bounce back and pour on the points.
Miami Heat @ Denver Nuggets
This game has a very low total of 205 points, but I agree with the system that the score stays low here and Miami picks up the win.
Miami is the number one team in the NBA against the spread this season, covering the spread in seven of their first nine games. They’ve done this by being a top three team in offensive rating and being ranked fourth in defensive rating, which is the best offense and defense combo in the league.
The addition of Kyle Lowry has been great and might have pushed Miami over the edge and has them back to being a contender. Tyler Herro has been great off of the bench as well, averaging 21.3 points per game on shooting 47.4% from the floor and 42.6% from behind the arc.
Denver will be without Michael Porter Jr., and Monte Morris is a game time decision. They are also a bottom five team on offense this season, so I don’t see them scoring many points tonight with those two out. Jokic can only do so much.
I think Miami takes care of business and wins this one by 5 or 6 in a low scoring contest.
Conclusion
That is all for today. Not sure if I’ll be back tomorrow, but you can see everything I have to say in the Action Network App and on my twitter.
Let’s get back to winning some money!
